Preparing for your video interview

We’re looking forward to working with you. Below are a few tips that will help you prepare. But remember, the most important thing is to be yourself. The video crew’s job is to make you look awesome and if we don’t, then we’re not doing our job correctly. So act naturally and have a positive outlook. It’s going to be great.

What to expect

With all interviews, it’s important to relax and be conversational. This provides the most authentic on-camera experience. To do this, we accomplish this in two ways.

  1. Simulating a conversation between you and the director

  2. Ignoring mistakes and pauses

Because we can edit, this enables us to use the best takes. So you can be rest assured you’ll look and sound great in the final edit.

What to wear

If the producer has a specific wardrobe request, they will notify you in advance. But for most productions, you’ll want to wear professional attire. Follow these tips:

  • Avoid patterns. Crosshatch or tight stripes will interfere with the camera.

  • Pick darker, solid colors. These won’t distract the viewer and look best under lights.

  • Bring a jacket. Having an additional wardrobe option gives us flexibility during the shoot.
